October is set to be a busy month at the Belle Fourche Area Community Center (BFACC). The BFACC has two events and two contests going on this month as well as multiple ongoing programs. Events include the Halloween Spooktacular and Fearless 5K and pumpkin carving and coloring contests that will be going on throughout the month of October.

The BFACC will host its annual Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, October 31st from 5:00 p.m-6:30 p.m. The BFACC’s signature event will look a bit different this year as it will be a drive-thru event where BFACC staff will hand out goodie bags to those who drive or walk to the facility. This event is made possible by donations from community businesses and members. Stay tuned for more details to come on the Spooktacular throughout the month.

Sunday, October 25th at 1:30pm in Herrmann Park the BFACC will host the Fearless 5K. This community event will feature kids races and a 5K for adults. Participants can sign up at the BFACC front desk. This event is sponsored in part by Pain & Movement Solutions

Throughout the month of October both pumpkin carving and coloring contests will be going on at the BFACC. Patrons are asked to provide their own pumpkin for carving and drop off at the BFACC if they would like it to be judged. Coloring sheets can be picked up at the BFACC and either be colored at the center or at home and returned to the front desk for judging. There will be three age groups for judging in each contest: ages 0-6, ages 7-12, and ages 13 plus. Submissions are due by Thursday, October 29th at noon. Submissions and prizes can be picked up the week of November 1st.
